healthcare...oh the joy of it all....

woohoo...it is time again for my HealthCare soapbox...

first off, I'm thinking I like this angle...

secondly, do you think we should ignore Kidney Disease?

a recent Harvard Study
http://pnhp.org/excessdeaths/health-insurance-and-mortality-in-US-adults.pdf
wow..i find this somehow, not surprising ->  "Conclusions. Uninsurance is associated with mortality."  by they way, according to this study more folks die from lack of insurance than from Kidney Disease each year.

please...if you care.  speak up.  email, call, write, send smoke signals or Morse Code...but do something and do it this week. your Rep needs to hear from you in order to know what you want.  he/she cannot read minds...and the loudest voice is likely to win.

I understand how the Left and Right are supposed to work.  but in recent times, they are not.  the GOP (and boy did I come up with some fun words for GOP to stand for, anyway...) has used 2 tactics.  1) FUD.  and FUD pisses me off.  2) stall.  by stalling they wear out the populous while tainting the soup with their venomous FUD.  this expends the available 'political capital' and what comes out the other side of the sausage factory is so watered down and covered in political fat...that whomever sponsored it looks the fool.  hence, they get a shot term and long term victory.  they being the Republican members of the House and Senate.  but what does the American populous get?

If a gov't run Health-Care plan is as terrible as they say, then I call for all GOP members to drop their gov't provided health care active immediately.  I would go so far as have our legislators do whatever necessary to allow such to happen within 30days (we wouldn't want them to have to keep such a dreadful plan until the annual window now would we).  If they are unwilling to do so, then I assume the gov't is indeed able to successfully administer such a plan.

If using this filibuster proof process is so terrible then i have two things to say.
don't talk shit.  if you have voted yes to 13 of the last 17 'budget reconciliation's" that have crossed your desk.  STFU.  Mr Mitch Mconnell I'm speaking to you.

If using Cost is your game....
why can we afford two wars but not health-care? we can afford to wage war on two countries (one of which we arguably should not have engaged in) but not to help the less fortunate members of our society get preventative care? we can afford to kill people on the other side of the world for their oil but not provide basic humanitarian aid to those living on our shores.  (note i DID NOT say citizen).  health-care is not immigration. if you got a problem with non-citizens, lets take it up with immigration and please let us leave the doctors to do what they do.  save lives and improve quality of life; let them care for the sick and the wounded. it is not the job of Emergency Room staff to verify citizenry. no. Period.  not their job.  their job is to save lives...we have immigration/border security to keep out the illegals.  perhaps some financial reform may help.  but then again, how many Americans are actually out of a job due to an illegal immigrant?  seriously.  we should at least provide some medical care else we'd have to mow our own lawns, clean our own homes and offices, work our farmland, do our own manual labor...mmmm...basically, do the hard dirty jobs that most Americans are too good to do.  sorry...back on point...but how will we afford it? we shall do as we have always done.  we shall stand up take care of our own and find a way.  no different than any of our families would do in a serious dilemma.  you do not kick your grandma out to live under a bridge cause she's old.  or uncle Joe cause he smells funny.  or aunt Sally cause she's a pain in the ass.  or cousin Barry cause he did something stoopid.  in most cases, we stand up and show solidarity with our (ie: family, town, city, state, nation, ethnic group, religious group, etc). let us not do just walk away from those that need help.  there is never a perfect time and if you argue that we must wait until later for whatever reason, then you are part of the problem and maybe you are not a member of the American family.  or maybe you just don't love your family.

but "the American people are against it'..  this is not necessarily true.  this is word play.
many are against the health-care bill cause they are tired and confused (see above).  but almost all for for the provisions it's trying to implement and/or the general idea. as always, read closely the polls that are being quoted.  http://www.ncpp.org/?q=node/4
polls are like statistics and accounting...with proper manipulation they will display the answer you desire.

i will end with this quote from Representative Grayson:
"What the Republicans have been doing is an insult to America."
